GDPR became law in 2016, and is now enforceable. Clubs and charities are not exempt from Data Protection laws and must take action to ensure that personal information (any information that can be used to identify a person) is appropriately protected.

The law includes the following:

Data (paper based or digital) is appropriately stored and that access is restricted to authorised people for club related reasons only.
Having a process in place to enable individuals to exercise their rights
Be transparent in the capture, processing and storage of personal data and who it is shared with
